What usually differs

Sports massage is often framed around training, movement and recovery. Deep-tissue massage is usually described as slower, firmer work on tight or deeper areas. In practice the techniques can overlap, so read the listing rather than relying on the name alone.

How to choose

If your main goal is recovery around sport, start with a sports massage description. If you want focused work on a stubborn tight area and the practice describes deep-tissue work clearly, that may be a better match. A new or worsening injury is a reason to speak to an appropriate healthcare professional.
