Physiotherapy guide
How to prepare for a physiotherapy appointment
A little preparation helps a physiotherapy appointment do its job: you arrive able to move, with the information the practitioner needs, and a clear idea of what you want from the visit.
On the day
- Wear clothing that lets the practitioner see and move the area being assessed
- Bring a list of questions
- Note when symptoms started and what you have already tried
- Arrive in time to check in without using the appointment minutes
What physiotherapy is not
Physiotherapy is not a substitute for emergency care. If you have a sudden injury with severe pain, unexplained weakness, or other worrying symptoms, seek urgent medical advice.
WellNear guides provide general information to help you compare services. They are not a substitute for personalised medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
