Massage guide
How to prepare for a massage appointment
A first massage is easier when you know how the room works, what to wear, and what to mention about injuries or skin before you get on the table.
Before you arrive
Avoid a heavy meal just before the session. Arrive able to lie still for the booked time. If you have a photo of a pressure you like, that is more useful than a brand name for the oil.
What to say
Mention injuries, pregnancy, skin conditions, and whether you want quiet or a conversation. Pressure can be changed during the session — say so rather than enduring it.
Afterwards
Drink water if that suits you, and give yourself a few unhurried minutes before driving or going back to a desk. If anything feels wrong after you leave, contact the practice.
