How to find the right hair salon for you
The right salon is the one that can do the cut, colour or treatment you want, with a named stylist and a clear first appointment. The shop name is the start, not the decision.
Start with the result, not the shop name
A salon that is excellent at lived-in colour is not automatically the right place for a precision cut, and the reverse is true. Read the services on the listing: cut, colour, treatment and restyle are different appointments with different times and prices.
Bring a photo of your own hair from a result you liked. A reference of someone with a different hair type is a conversation starter, not a promise.
Check who you will actually see
Larger salons often have several stylists. Look for a named person, their usual services, and whether you can book them directly. A consultation before colour or a big restyle is worth asking for, especially if you have not been there before.
- Named stylist, not only the salon name
- Service length and what is included
- Whether a patch test or consultation is required
- Price shown before you confirm
- A time you can keep, including the travel
Book a first visit you can judge
A dry cut or a consultation is an easier first booking than a long colour correction. Tell them what you want to keep, what you want to change, and how much time you will spend on your hair at home.
If the listing publishes appointment times on WellNear, use those. You can compare a few salons on the same afternoon without a chain of messages.
