Getting back into exercise after a break
A break changes the starting point. The useful plan is the one that matches your current energy, any niggles, and the number of sessions you will still do next week.
Start from where you are
The old routine is a memory, not a target for week one. Choose something you can finish feeling able to come back: a walk, a beginners’ class, or a short session with a trainer who knows you are returning.
If you have pain, a recent injury or a health condition, check with a clinician before you load it. A class or a trainer can work with that advice. They should not guess it.
Build the week before you build the intensity
Two sessions you complete are better than five you schedule and miss. Keep the travel short and the level honest. Tell the teacher or trainer it is your first time back so they can offer options.
Decide the next session before the mood fades
Book it, or write the day down, before you leave. Progress is the repeat, not a dramatic first workout. Compare local classes and trainers on WellNear when you want a named time rather than another open-ended plan.
