Nutrition guide
What to expect at a first nutrition appointment
Nutritionists and dietitians ask different questions, but a first appointment should still feel like a conversation about how you actually eat, sleep and train — then a small number of changes you can keep.
Who you might see
Titles vary. Read whether the listing describes a dietitian, a nutritionist or nutritional therapy, and what they say they help with. If you have a diagnosed condition, ask whether they work with that — or whether you should start with your GP.
What usually happens
Expect questions about meals, energy, digestion, training and what you have already tried. A good first session ends with a handful of next steps, not a complete personality overhaul.
What to bring
- A simple note of a typical day of eating
- Medication or supplements you already take
- Any recent blood tests you are happy to share
- What “better” would look like in four weeks
